Personality assessments
A personality assessment is a measure of personal characteristics that make up ones personality. At Insight, we can use a series of tests which will help us gather information about personality including clinical personality test exploring and identifying mental health issues and disorders. A qualified Insight assessor will walk you through the personality test(s) after completing a thorough interview and will provide a comprehensive evaluation at the end of your assessment.
Popular clinical personality assessment test include those like the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-2) the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI-III) and the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) but can also range to more lighter and non clinical (not looking for mental illness issues or diagnosis) like the Myers-Briggs test (MBTI) or the California Personality Inventory (CPI), which Insight is able to administer to individuals or in a workplace context.
Behavioural assessments
Behavioural assessments were originally developed for the purpose of identifying the reasons why individuals with severe cognitive or communicative disabilities acted or thought the way they did. Now these tests can explore reasons or comparisons to the norm in different areas of behavioral functioning to help get a better understanding of what might be causing the issue or what specific behaviors are at issue.
These assessments can include initial interviews, observation of the behaviors in a context, parent or caregiver ratings and standardized tests. Some of the common tests insight uses is the Behavior Assessment System for Children, Second Edition (BASC-2), Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) and the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System Second Edition (ABAS-II).
