Hi, I’m Megan, a Registered Psychologist. I work with people who are navigating complex situations and feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. My approach is thoughtful, practical, and focused on helping you understand what’s happening and make meaningful changes. Therapy doesn’t require you to have the right words or a clear plan. We’ll figure that out together.
In addition to our joint Insight Psychological and The Grief and Trauma Healing Centre location within Evolve Strength Royal Oak, Megan sees clients at our Montgomery location in the Northwest Centre building. The address is 4520 – 16 Ave NW #130, Calgary, AB.
If you are struggling to take the first step in booking an appointment or curious about whether I am the right fit for you, please give us a call at (403) 252-1716 to schedule a free 15 minute consultation.
I come into this work with a Master of Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Education. I have a deep passion for understanding the human mind and why people do what they do. I have a special interest in working with men and young people (ages 12+).
Throughout my career, I have gained significant experience in crisis intervention, providing vital support to individuals navigating challenging times. My goal is to create a collaborative environment where people can explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and embark on a journey of self-discovery.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in humanistic and client-centred principles. That means I believe that counselling is about you and your unique experiences and needs. My focus lies in helping people unearth their authenticity and courage, enabling them to craft lives filled with empowerment and peace. I strive to create a safe and empathetic space where you can explore your innermost thoughts and feelings and work toward positive change.
I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a powerful approach that encourages psychological flexibility and resilience. Additionally, my work includes Narrative Therapy, a method that emphasizes the importance of personal narratives in shaping our lives. I am also a Level 1 Gottman Therapist, equipped with the skills to support couples in building strong, healthy relationships.
What quick advice do you have for people who are really struggling?
If you’re struggling, try to slow things down instead of figuring everything out at once. Focus on what’s right in front of you, and take one small step in a direction that matters. You don’t need to have all the answers to begin moving forward.
What was a defining moment in your life?
Losing my dad was a defining moment in my life. It shifted how I understand grief, resilience, and what it means to move forward when things feel uncertain. That experience continues to shape how I show up in my work and how I support others through difficult transitions.
