More About Hannah Szucs

My therapeutic approach values collaboration and is rooted in the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. I bring a unique perspective through my academic background, which includes a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Physiology and Developmental Biology, completed before pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. This scientific foundation provides me with a deep appreciation and understanding of the biological and physiological factors that influence mental health and overall wellness. It allows me to integrate a holistic approach to exploring how the mind and body interact in response to stress, emotion, and the healing process.

My counselling philosophy centers on empathy, curiosity, and the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. I believe in meeting you where you are and tailoring our work to reflect your values, goals, and lived experience. I am dedicated to providing affirming and culturally sensitive care personalized to your unique needs. Whether navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or seeking a deeper connection with yourself, I am here to support you with compassion, insight, and care. Together, we will work to foster resilience, clarity, and lasting personal growth.

What is your favourite quote?

“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance” – Oscar Wilde

This quote speaks to the importance of developing a deep and compassionate relationship with yourself. It means embracing who you are with kindness and acceptance. I hold this quote close to my heart as it recognizes that self-love is not selfish but instead is foundational. When we care for ourselves, we build the confidence and emotional resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges. Self-love is a romance that evolves over time and is rooted in growth, self-respect, and grace.

What are you most passionate about?

I am passionate about living a balanced and active lifestyle, as I find joy and grounding in outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, skiing, and snowshoeing. I am devoted to these experiences as I believe they support physical health while nurturing mental well-being. I am deeply committed to promoting sexual health and advocating for comprehensive, inclusive sex education, believing that access to accurate information about safe sex is essential for empowerment and overall wellness. I am enthusiastic about understanding diverse perspectives and how individuals make sense of the world around them. Expanding worldviews, engaging with different lived experiences, and continuously acquiring knowledge are values that guide both my personal life and professional practice.
