More About Selina Kanagasuriam

As a South Asian Canadian, I have been shaped by a rich tapestry of cultures and spiritualities that have infused my life with diversity and a deep appreciation for the human experience. With a holistic approach, I am committed to helping others on their journey towards self-improvement and fulfillment.

Having grown up navigating the complexities of acculturation, discrimination, family conflicts, and adjustment, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges many individuals face. I am passionate about supporting and empowering those who seek to become the best versions of themselves, and I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients.

In my counseling practice, I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Humanistic approaches. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each client, recognizing that everyone’s journey is different.

In addition to my professional work, I am an active volunteer, dedicating my time and skills to working with youth and children over the age of 10. I am passionate about helping young individuals navigate the challenges of adolescence and supporting them in their personal growth and development.

I believe that life is a continuous journey of growth and self-discovery, and I am committed to walking alongside my clients as they explore their own paths. With a caring, supportive, and non-judgmental mindset, I am dedicated to helping individuals embrace their diverse identities, overcome challenges, and cultivate a fulfilling life. My mission is to empower my clients to harness their inner strengths and resources, and to provide them with the tools and support they need to thrive on their unique journey towards self-improvement and well-being.
