My boyfriend and I are very happy together but he recently messaged a girl from his past to tell her that he keeps having a fantasy with her in it… He said he doesn’t know why he did it, he didn’t want anything to happen, he was bored at work at the time and doesn’t have an explanation. I’m pretty sure he has low self-esteem and needs reassurance from other women that he is desirable… I’m am totally confused as to why he did this, because we are so happy together. If you have any advise could you let me know. Thank you so much!

Thank you for turning to Insight Psychological. It sounds like you are very happy in your relationship so I can appreciate your concerns surrounding his recent behaviour. Given the information you have disclosed, it is difficult to say why your boyfriend chose to contact a girl from his past. Your explanation may very well have something to do with it. If you would like to explore this issue in more depth, I recommend that you and your boyfriend book an appointment with one of our therapists to discuss this matter further.
