Simply stated, you are worthy. I am honored to be able to walk alongside each client’s unique journey of personal growth and help them optimize the innate capacity to derive meaning from difficult life challenges. I have a genuine curiosity of people and an ability to make strong connections to foster self-acceptance and healing. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for clients to self-explore and find self-insight. I use a client-centered integrative approach to work collaboratively with clients to flexibly address their life concerns.

More About Hang Huynh

My counselling strategy draws upon an integrative approach which is built on the foundation of Carl Rogers’ core conditions of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. From this basic foundation, I use a composite of intervention techniques to address the multifaceted concerns of clients. Through establishing a non-judgmental and accepting environment, I collaborate with clients on finding meaning and values-based action to promote healing and constructive change. My therapeutic interests include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy (NT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT).

A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS:

Have you, or anyone close to you, had to overcome any trauma, or mental health challenge?

I’ve had personal experiences with overcoming trauma, which helped shape my ability to deeply empathize and understand clients’ profound mental health struggles.
