I take a holistic and individualized approach to therapy, recognizing the connection between the mind, body, emotions, and relationships. As a Bipoc therapist, I’m passionate about providing culturally responsive and inclusive care. I recognize that our identities, cultures, families, and lived experiences all shape how we move through the world. Whether you’re looking for a therapist who understands the importance of culture and identity or simply someone who will meet you with openness, curiosity, and respect, I strive to create a space where you feel seen and valued.

More About Amanda Hawkins

My approach to therapy is flexible because I know there isn’t a one-size-fits-all way to heal. I draw from several evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Parts Work, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also see couples and utilize the Gottman Method and Relational Life Therapy. Together, we’ll find an approach that fits you, your goals, and your pace. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, addiction, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, I hope that therapy becomes a place where you can better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.

I completed my Bachelor of Child and Youth Care at Grant MacEwan University and my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, youth, adults, and families in a variety of mental health settings. Much of my experience has been supporting children and adolescents experiencing significant mental health challenges, as well as working as an addictions counsellor with both youth and adults. These experiences have deepened my understanding of trauma, emotional regulation, addiction, anxiety, depression, and the many ways life experiences can impact our well-being.
