More About Jade Moretta

Seeking support can feel overwhelming, and I recognize the courage it takes to make that first step. Life’s challenges can sometimes leave us feeling stuck or disconnected from our potential, but I believe every person holds intrinsic worth and an innate ability for personal growth.

As a student intern therapist, I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences, strengths, and goals. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which you are the expert of your own life, and together we will work toward greater understanding, resilience, and fulfillment. I believe in the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship, and my goal is to foster an environment where you feel genuinely heard and understood.

My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, grounded in empathy, curiosity, and compassion. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling, so I draw from an integrative framework that incorporates a variety of methods to best support your unique needs and journey. I am passionate about walking alongside clients as they navigate whatever it is that brings them to the counselling space.

Ultimately, I want therapy to feel like a safe and supportive place where your story matters. I am here to meet you where you are and walk with you toward the changes that matter most to you.

A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS:

When did you know you wanted to become a psychologist?

I knew I wanted to become a psychologist when I was 13 after completing a school project on mental health. That experience began my passion for psychology, and from then on I knew this was the path I wanted to follow. Around that time, I wrote a letter to my future self, hoping I would go to university to study psychology. That hope has stayed with me, and today I am honoured to be on this journey. My own experiences with grief, mental health, and navigating the effects of parental substance misuse and instability within my family have only strengthened this calling. These experiences have deepened my empathy and given me a genuine understanding of how important it is to feel seen, supported, and not alone. I did not just want to study psychology; I wanted to become the kind of support for others that I often wished for myself.

What do you think the world needs more of?

For me, the world needs more compassion and laughter. Compassion has the power to heal, to bridge divides, and to remind us that we are never truly alone in our struggles. Laughter brings lightness, joy, and connection, easing the weight we all carry at times. Together, compassion and laughter create space for hope, healing, and genuine human connection.
