More About Diana Wittig

My work is grounded in providing compassionate, inclusive, and culturally aware care that respects each person’s experiences and values. My goal as a therapist is to walk alongside clients, offering a safe and accepting space to explore challenges, process past experiences, and build resilience.

My approach integrates trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Somatic Attachment, and Indigenous Focusing Oriented Therapy. I have experience working with children, youth, adults, Elders, and clients who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+. I take my cues from each person and tailor support to meet their unique needs and goals.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta and a Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My training includes specialized programs in trauma, attachment, family systems, suicide prevention, and evidence-based therapy approaches. I am committed to helping clients navigate life transitions, build skills, and move forward in ways that feel meaningful and aligned with their values.

Whether working with individuals, children, or youth, I strive to create spaces where healing and growth are guided by the client, grounded in empathy, and supported by connection and understanding.

A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS

Have you, or anyone close to you, had to overcome any trauma, or mental health challenge?

I have a son and brother who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and I’ve seen the unique struggles they face around acceptance, identity, and mental health. These experiences have deeply informed my commitment to supporting others with empathy, understanding, and culturally sensitive care.

What do you think the world needs more of?

The world needs more empathy and open-mindedness, people taking the time to listen, understand, and respect perspectives different from their own. Compassion allows us to connect authentically, support one another through challenges, and create communities where everyone feels seen and valued.
