More about Raelene Tulick

I became a counsellor because I believe it is a very special relationship and one of the few opportunities in life where you have some that has your best interest in mind 100%.

I have approximately 10 years’ experience as a performance coach, mainly in corporations across Canada and the U.S., with a specialty in the areas of culture and leadership. In saying this, I believe that people are people, no matter the setting. The same issues that come up in business for an executive are the same issues that come up for a child in school, just on a different scale.

I draw from a variety of methodologies, including cognitive behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused (possibility) therapy, person-centered therapy, performance coaching, mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

Besides counselling, I also use a coaching method where appropriate, which involves more structure and action. I have a love and interest in working with athletes. This is a personal passion of mine as I grew up as a multi-sport competitive athlete and still compete at the Masters level. If you are a competitive athlete, I believe I would be a great fit in supporting you in the future you are creating.

I look forward to getting to know you and learn about the future you want to have, than you do not currently have.

A FEW QUESTIONS:

Raelene, what quick advice do you have for people who are really struggling?

My advice for people that are really struggling is that having struggles is just a part of being a human being. I also want to say that you can and will get beyond your current struggles. I know sometimes it seems that the struggle will last forever, but it doesn’t. Struggle is temporary.

What do you think the world needs more of?

I think the world needs more diverse people in influential positions, in order to balance out our current societal values. That means more people in the LGBTQ+, women, mothers, racial minorities in political positions, on boards, and determining social policy in general. These are people that have different perspectives, which will create a more fulfilling and balanced life for everyone.
