I truly believe that connectedness promotes a great sense of well-being of overall health and wellness. Providing awareness in understanding what we think, feel and believe affects one’s wellness. I look forward to providing a safe environment where you can explore any sufferings you may be experiencing and will help you to reach your full potential and regain balance in your life.
I am currently trained in psycho-educational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. I also specialize in other assessments – gifted/intellectually advanced, learning challenges including ADHD, as well as other socio-emotional and behavioural needs. These comprehensive assessments provide support for families and schools with practical information and the results from the assessment provide an opportunity to identify an individual’s areas of strengths and growth.
I bring enthusiasm, openness, acceptance, and authenticity to my work with clients. Living in various cultures, I understand how culture could have an impact on individuals. I therefore strive to understand your worldview and utilize that in assisting you. I draw from a solution focused approach to help you to recognize and build on your own strengths to get through current difficulties. I support clients by using different approaches that draw on ideas such as mindfulness, narrative therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I speak and work in English, Punjabi and Urdu.
I enjoy music, dancing, reading, and keep myself active by playing scotch.
A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS:
Navpreet, have you, or anyone close to you, had to overcome any trauma, or mental health challenge?
Not me but my close friend had to overcome the trauma after her sister died of suicide, after it took a toll on her mental health and it took a while to recover from the traumatic experience. Seeing this, I saw the challenges of overcoming trauma and mental health challenges, resulting in how much a person can grow from them.
What do you think the world needs more of?
The world needs validation, reflective listening and equalization.
