More about Natalya Vann

I am currently in my final year of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program through Yorkville University. I have worked in the human services field for the past eight years in various capacities which has helped prepare me to work with a diverse population. I have experience in working with a variety of individuals, including women, children, adolescents and families. These individuals have varying mental health diagnosis including Autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), addictions and trauma.

My approach to counselling is strength-based and client-centered. I like to gain perspective and insight on the client’s lived experiences by hearing their stories. I also believe in a holistic approach to counselling that could be achieved through collaboration and relationship-building. Being an effective and competent counselor is one who is accepting and confident in dealing with complex issues encompassing a wide range of concerns. My practice is guided by the belief that I can make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Including English, I also speak and write Tagalog (Filipino)
