Insight Psychological Therapists - Claire Davie

Claire Davie, Therapist, BA, (She/Her)
Hello! My name is Claire Davie, and I am a post-practicum therapist currently completing my Master of Counselling with City University of Seattle. I love hearing and learning about people’s stories and am endlessly curious about the human experience. I want to be able to help people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and grief and loss. Also, I am interested in helping people heal in the aftermath of traumatic experiences such as a life-altering accident or health diagnosis, suicide, death of a loved one, or a relationship breakdown. Ultimately, my goal is to help my clients overcome whatever it is that is holding them back from achieving a fulfilling and authentic life.
*NOTE: Our Post-Practicum Therapists offer reduced rates for counselling support. Please be aware that FEES WILL BE NON-REIMBURSABLE by Extended Health Care Benefit Plans.
More About Claire Davie
Growing up, I loved having meaningful conversations with others and I felt as though I could naturally fit into the role of a therapist, even when I was young and hardly knew what a therapist was! I hope to work primarily with adults using a psychodynamic/depth psychology approach, and I also enjoy utilizing narrative and trauma-focused approaches to counselling. As a counsellor in training, I am looking to hone in on my skills and gain the practical experience needed to work effectively with clients in overcoming their difficulties.
I believe in a collaborative approach to counselling where the client is an expert in their own lives. As a therapist I am merely a facilitator of change whereas the client has the capability to enact the meaningful change when they are ready and feel supported to do so.
I am a warm, caring, and empathetic individual who believes in the human potential and that all people are worthy of genuine care and support. My goal in providing a safe environment where someone can be truly seen and heard is that it will allow for courageous healing to begin. Outside of work I am an avid reader and animal lover, and I enjoy being physically active and spending time outdoors.
