More About Aurora Atienza

Over the years, I have experienced many roles and life’s challenges. I believe these make me well equipped to use my knowledge and experiences to benefit my clients in ways that could help them create and live an enjoyable meaningful life.

Having been a mortgage consultant and Personal Financial Fitness Coach, I am passionate about helping clients deal with their personal financial concerns. I’ve been married for over 36 years and I feel that I may also know a thing or two to help couples with regards to their marital matters.

I’ve worked as a co-facilitator for AHS’ Better Choices Better Health (Chronic Pain, Diabetes & Chronic Disease) and the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Suicide Grief Support Services and I have acquired the skills of facilitating the healing process of loss and bereavement as I journeyed with my clients.

My approach to therapy uses an integrated short-term strategy, applying principles of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-informed Care, Family Systems, and Mindfulness techniques. I have found these modalities effective in dealing with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, loneliness, grief and bereavement, trauma, and life transitions (changes in health, career or work situation, and life direction).

Nothing excites me more than witnessing the transformation of my client, like a rising phoenix, into an empowered individual with renewed inner strength, clarity, and purpose.

Aurora, what is your favourite quote?

What are you most passionate about?

It is my passion and privilege to journey with and witness my client’s improvements as we work together in empowering them to create and live an enjoyable meaningful life. Using my facilitation skills and integration of various modalities, I work collaboratively with my clients towards thought process changes needed so that their life’s struggles become optional. By helping my clients become aware of how their thoughts impact their behavior and their emotions, they can be in a better position to respond from an empowered stance, strategizing, as opposed to impulse reaction in challenging situations.
