My ex girlfriend and I have decided to try and work out our relationship for our families Sake and I was wondering if she is seeing someone else would it be worth it to spend the time with someone to fix a relationship if they are with another person?

If she’s seeing someone else, does she want to fix the relationship with you? Is she willing to let go of this other relationship? Relationships can be worth doing the work, it just requires the work of both people. If she has said that she wants to work on the two of you for the sake of the family, that sounds to me like she is willing to let go of the other relationship.

Even if she is not wanting to get back together with you, there are things you can do to have a positive co-parenting experience (my assumption is that the two of you have children together?). It would be beneficial for the two of you to speak to someone, no matter what she decides to do. There are several places you can contact for support. You can make an appointment with us here at Insight at 780-461-1717, The Family Center (780-424-5580) or The Support Network (780-482-0198).
