My fiance and I want to marry soon however we both have two boys ages 12 – 17. My boys are fine and live with me and know and interact with my fiance. My fiance’s boys live with their own mother (his x) and so far have not been willing to meet me or my boys (they even go to the same school). We want to be sensitive to his boys struggle but it has gone on now for 15 months and I am wondering what to do. We live in a fairly small city and cannot avoid occasional seeing each other.His x is not helpful in helping the boys come to terms with this situation. My fiance has taken great pains to reassure his boys and appeal to them but to no avail and the ball seems to be completely in their court. I am frustrated and worried.
