Wellness During COVID

The Covid-19 pandemic has profoundly affected the lives and livelihood of many Canadians. Employees/members live in limbo, not knowing when all these would end and if they can make it through. Many work under heavy restrictions and/or in isolation, having minimal and shallow interactions with their colleagues. Over time and with no end in sight, many start to feel trapped, helpless, anxious, fearful, and/or depressed. This in turn negatively affect employees’/members’ mental health, productivity, and relationships both at home and at work.

Throughout the pandemic, key areas in which organizations and their employees/members often seek help are:

  • Dealing with stress, anxiety, and fear brought on by various aspects of the pandemic.
  • Coping with long term physical and/or psychological effects of Covid infection.
  • Reducing isolation for employees who work from home and dealing with the psychological effects of working in isolation.
  • Managing employee performance and productivity in a virtual work setting.
  • Managing hybrid work groups and hybrid work model.
  • Job loss and career transition.

Through the following services, Insight’s therapists and workplace wellness specialists can help your employees/members to build their mental resiliency, coping skills, and self-care strategies needed to stay adaptable, well, and productive during the pandemic.

Cognitive Impairment Rehabilitation

If cognitive impairment is one of the effects suffered by an employee/member due to Covid infection, they may see a noticeable deterioration in their concentration and attention, memory, learning and retention, self-regulation, speech and language, information processing speed, reasoning, planning, and/or problem-solving speed or ability.

Using state-of-art perceptual-cognitive equipment and tools, we can help your employee/member to assess, re-train and re-build, as much as possible, their cognitive and functional abilities and to gain new skills to compensate for what was lost. We will also help them to deal with the psychological and relational impact of their impairment.

Job Loss & Career Transition Support

Due to having to cope with all the stressors that come with the pandemic, a job loss during the pandemic can be especially devastating for an employee/member. Their adjustment becomes even more difficult when they feel loss, have not future prospects, and/or not sure how to move forward. Being in such a state for a period of time will likely increase one’s sense of anxiety, depression, anger, and overall despair.

For your employees/members who may be losing their job, offering an outplacement service that includes vocational/aptitude assessment, transition counselling, and career/job change preparation can help to ease the psychological impact of their job loss as well as help them to transition quicker and more successfully into their new situation.
