A significant portion of our EFAP involves the service of psychological counselling. Our EFAP counselling services are designed to help employees and their family resolve issues surrounding themselves or their employment.

Insight recognizes the different language, cultural and spiritual needs that often exist in a diverse work force. It is crucial that these needs be addressed in an appropriate and respectable manner. Therefore, we have tailored and expand our services to accommodate this existing diversity.

Insight’s team consists of professional, multi-lingual, highly qualified, registered practitioners (Registered Psychologists, Certified Clinical Counsellors, Marriage and Family Therapists) with a minimum of a Masters degree who have a broad range of skills and expertise. Insight makes use of a multi-disciplinary team in order to ensure that appropriate professionals attend to the specific needs of our clients. Insight maintains ongoing supervision of its staff. Company performance is continually evaluated in order to maximize the impact of our services. Therapists receive case conferencing and consultation as needed on an ongoing basis.

Being aware of the tremendous stress and anxiety that is experienced by most employees during any organizational restructuring periods, Insight also offers specific Re-organization Adjustment Counselling sessions to assist employees in their cope with the change.

Assessment services

Insight Psychological Inc. is able to provide assessment services under its EFAP program to help employees determine their best job fit as well as if there are any issues that are causing employment difficulties. By utilizing the assessment services employees involving Vocational Interest and Development or Job Task Performance and Achievement Testing, both strengths and weaknesses can be determined to help improve employment potential and ensure continued employment advancement and success.

Forensic Assessments

Services of psychologists who are highly experienced in forensic assessments can be accessed by any Insight EFAP covered employee or his/her eligible family member when he/she is charged with a violation of law where psychological, intellectual and competency assessment plays a crucial component in effecting the court's judgement. Factors determined by the assessments include the likelihood of a person to repeat his/her offence, the person's intellectual ability to comprehend his/her actions and many other factors.

Custody/Access/Parenting Assessment

Marital and family break-ups are among the highest stressors of a person's life. Unfortunately, they are becoming more common and a large portion of today's workforce is affected by such a break up at one point or another in their life. When custody battles for the children ensue, the stress, pressure and emotional anxiety increases. An employee's work performance, concentration, alertness and personal health commonly suffer when experiencing such situations.

Some organizations can offer support to an employee by supporting or allowing him/her to obtain a custody/access/parenting assessment if he/she requires one due to failed mediation or if one is needed to support the employees' custody claim. This type of support reflects an organization's awareness and sensitivity to changes in family dynamics that directly effect their employees' well-being.
