Ashley Tulloch - B.A., M.Sc. MFT, Registered Provisional Psychologist
Ashley is enthusiastic and passionate about her work with individuals, couples, and families. Ashley obtained her Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy with Highest Honours (Summa Cum Laude) from Loma Linda University and completed her extensive two-year clinical internship at Insight Psychological.
During Ashley's internship she provided counselling and assessment services to individuals, couples, and families and co-facilitated a 10-week boundaries and assertiveness group for women. In addition, she obtained her Level One Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Ashley’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology and completion of two undergraduate clinical placements; one with Regional Mental Health and the other in forensic psychiatry at Alberta Hospital Edmonton.
Ashley is also passionate about academia and teaching. She is a Sessional Instructor of Psychology at Concordia University College of Alberta.
Ashley utilizes a solution-focused, client-directed approach to therapy. Ashley aims to facilitate an environment in which her clients are empowered to uncover their inherent strengths, resources, and competencies and create preferred realities for their future. She supports her clients in setting realistic goals within the context of their lives so they can experience growth and change in a meaningful way.
Ashley has worked with a variety of clients of different cultures, abilities, and ages experiencing a range of issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, relational conflict, addictions, sexual issues, life transitions, crisis, sexual abuse, and stress management.
Ashley is particularly passionate about grief and loss counselling. Losses that are considered grief include, but are not limited to, death, divorce/break-up, moving, retirement, pet loss, loss of health, empty nest, starting/finishing school, and loss of trust, safety, control, faith, and fertility. Having experienced and healed from significant grief in her own life, Ashley has a deep capacity to empathize and connect with people on a deep emotional level. Ashley aims to provide an environment that offers safety, comfort, and hope to her grieving clients throughout their unique healing processes.
Ashley's background also includes working with at-risk youth in residential treatment who have struggled with multiple issues including attachment disruptions, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, depression, and post-traumatic stress.
Ashley is a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists, Psychologists Association of Alberta, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
